He was born into a family with a rich artistic background; his father, Aboobacker, was also an actor and theatre artist, while his brother, Niyas Backer, is a well-known figure in the entertainment industry.

Navas began his career in the entertainment field as a mimicry artist, gaining recognition as part of the Kalabhavan mimicry troupe. His debut in films came in 1995 with the movie Chaithanyam, but he gained significant popularity through his roles in various comedy films and television shows. He was introduced to the film industry by veteran director Balukiriyath in Mimics Action 500, alongside 38 other mimicry artists.
